Crest Awards –Rise to the Challenge

BA CREST is a nationally recognised accreditation scheme for project work in science and technology aimed at students aged 11-19.
This award encourages students to develop their scientific curiosity and to find solutions to problems or tasks, in the same way as professional scientists and engineers do. This motivates the students, builds confidence and encourages them to pursue careers in these areas.

BA CREST Awards are available in two subject areas – Science and Technology (D&T) - and at three levels:

• Bronze - 10 hours of project work, typically KS3
• Silver - 40 hours of project work, typically KS4. Links with industry encouraged
• Gold - 100 hours of project work, typically post-16 education. Students are linked with a mentor from industry or higher education.

BA CREST Awards is a well known and nationally recognised award, which allows the students to explore their own ideas and interests within science, engineering and technology and also helps to bridge the gap between science in the classroom and the ‘real’ world.
