London Schools Programme 2008/09

Visits to London Zoo

School groups can choose to come on a self-guided visit to the zoo, or to enhance their visit with an educational activity delivered by an Education Officer. Education sessions are available for primary, secondary and post-16 classes, and cover many topics within science and the wider curriculum.

The Mayor of London has sponsored free admission and educational activities to ZSL London Zoo for pupils in London state Primary and Secondary schools.

Outreach
Liven up the gloomy winter by booking an outreach visit! Our Outreach Officers can visit London schools (within 45 minute drive of the zoo) and deliver fun and interactive sessions about conservation and the environment.

In this exciting programme also sponsored by the Mayor of London, we are able to visit Primary and Secondary state schools in the East London boroughs of Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets at a cost of £75 per visit (including up to two sessions), and £25 per each additional session.

Booking
For visits to London Zoo, or for general education enquiries please call 020 7449 6557. For Outreach, please call 020 7449 6551. The booking lines are open Mon - Fri between 9.00am - 5.00pm.
Further details of the activities offered, plus other resources including a risk assessment and a pre-visit PowerPoint presentation, can be found on the ZSL website at: www.zsl.org/education/schools
