
Centre of the Cell
is an exciting new science
education centre and online resource teaching about cells and biomedical
science.
It is suitable for ages 9 to 18. Centre of the Cell opens in April 2009 and the website was launched in 2007 and contains games and information on cells, organs, biomedicine and associated ethical questions and careers (www.centreofthecell.org).
Centre of the Cell is running free ‘Meet the Scientist’ evenings where teachers and 6th formers can gain a fascinating insight into the work of leading scientists. Places are available for the next session on Monday 15th September (starts at 5:30pm).

Centre of the Cell is also running free workshops about discussing ethical issues in the classroom. They provide the opportunity for teachers to hear a scientist speak about an area of research and then develop techniques in running discussions and debates on scientific ethical issues in the classroom.
