Spitalfields City Farm is starting a gardening club for young people, aged 11-25.
It is called the Green Hand Gang.
Get involved!

At the Farm’s club, you will learn hands-on the basics of organic gardening, and will get the opportunity not only to grow but to eat your own vegetables.

The aim is to have fun, learn gardening skills and work with others. The range of practical horticultural skills that you can learn from the farm include:

•   organic gardening
•   growing vegetables, flowers & herbs from seed
•   identifying and growing British native wildflowers
•   landscaping and design
•   building and construction – e.g. raised beds

There will also be the opportunity to get involved in a variety of other hands-on practical activities around the farm, as part of a team and/or independently. This could include anything from basic animal care skills, to making art pieces using the natural world around you.

The sessions are FREE and will take place every Tuesday from 2pm during holidays and 3.30pm during term time. Sessions start from mid June.

The farm can also provide gardening group activities for young people who may want volunteer experience or a day out as part of a course at school or college.
Anyone keen to be a garden volunteer at the farm is welcome on Tues/Weds/Thurs and Sundays.
