
Creekside Schools programme 2008 - 2009
In the coming academic year we are offering a range of exciting new Field
Study opportunities for schools in the vibrant and unique urban context of
Deptford Creek.
Deptford Creek is a tidal tributary of the Thames It is steeped in history
and has a fascinating range of flora and fauna to explore and learn about.
It has long been an area of change and even now there are plans in progress
regarding it’s further development. Deptford Creek is an area of London
in the midst of huge change.
The Creekside Centre has unique pedestrian access to Deptford Creek and
is ideally located to explore this amazingly rich and diverse area of wild
life. It is a living educational resource that offers good facilities for
both indoor and outdoor activities.
A fully equipped Education Centre that can cater for up to 30 students per
session
Experienced Staff
Curriculum linked sessions across Key Stages 1, 2 & 3
All sessions are planned and led by experienced environmental educators and can be tailored to the needs of individual classes.
Subjects offered include Science, Geography and History and all sessions provide excellent opportunities to develop cross curriculum activities and learning.
Each school visit will be based around a Key Session which will offer a unique ‘hands on’ outdoor discovery activity, augmented with classroom based learning experiments, activities and explainer sessions.
